A long hiatus

Hello everyone! Last year I was pushing out content quite rapidly and trying to gain some sort of traction for building an online audience. Unfortunately, I burnt out and lost steam with the combination of my family, career, and other outside factors demanding most of my time. I am going to be trying to develop a more steady stream of content spread out over a wider period of time so as to not burn the candle at both ends and risk burning out again. Thanks for all the support I have received so far, I really do appreciate it.

Some of the content I was working on last year that I posted about will all be available in their unfinished state on my Patreon page at https://www.patreon.com/stevenlaity for $1 per month essentially. My hope is to eventually finish working on everything posted there and upload it eventually so no need to donate if you don't want to! Everything will remain free if you don't mind waiting. It's been great to hear from all of you, listen to your performances of my arrangements, and get feedback on my videos. I really do appreciate it.

Upcoming arrangements: Keep an eye out!

I've been fairly busy over the last month, so I've slowed down a bit on tab uploads. That being said, there are quite a few that I've still been working on when time permits. Here is a list of all the arrangements that are half-way done or better that you should be expecting over the next month or so:

Part Of Your World - Little Mermaid

Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House

Everybody Wants To Be A Cat - Aristocats

I Can't Make You Love Me - Bonnie Raitt

Thoughts To A Friend - Xenoblade Chronicles

Working on several new songs, and easier versions of previous arrangements.

Here is a list of new songs that are close to being released that I've being working on:

A Whole New World - Aladdin

Party Of Your World - The Little Mermaid

Clock Tower Theme - The Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask

Notebook Theme - The Notebook

When She Loved Me - Toy Story 2

Also, I have released an easier version of Zelda's Lullaby for beginners. Make sure to check it out!

Some of these arrangements I've been working on for months, and a couple even longer than that. I really do my best to produce accurate and high-quality arrangements to the best of my ability. So do pardon the slow months when they happen! Sometimes I run into some serious writers block or get stuck on a certain part of a song and just decide to drop it and revisit it at a later time. That is the case with most of these, but they are all very close to completed now! As always, thanks for all of the feedback. I use to post these arrangements to the wind with very little response, so it has been quite fulfilling to see a handful returning ukulele enthusiasts show their support. It certainly helps to keep me motivated! So again, I genuinely do appreciate it.

Getting the Ukulaity site up and running

It's been quite a few years now since I decided to start uploading ukulele music. As I complete more tabs, they've all just started to pile up and get lost in a sea of poorly categorized image uploads on facebook. I've run into a situation where I get a few messages a week from newcomers expressing their frustration with trying to locate a particular arrangement I've posted and asking for help. It is clear that posting an image of the sheet music is certainly not the best method, but it is by far the cheapest and simplest so it's what I've been doing.

I think I've found myself at a fork in the road where I can choose to either stagnate or improve whatever it exactly it is that I am trying to do here with my online presence. I have been gaining a bit of traction in terms of reaching more and more viewers on facebook and youtube, and I genuinely want to do right by everyone by offering the best possible experience that I can. A website seems to be the best option. But of course, everything costs money. I have a family, kids included, so I have to budget accordingly. That being said, I have zero intentions of ever selling my arrangements; It has always been my desire keep everything free out of a genuine love of music. If anyone has any suggestions on how to keep this website afloat long term, I am all ears! I know that monthly-donation type services such as Patreon exist, but I've never had much success with those platforms. Regardless, I would love as much feedback as possible on the new website. I know these sorts of personal sites are dime-a-dozen when it comes to ukulele, so I very much appreciate any and all of the support!
